In February, a bizarre, horrific accident happened on Interstate 78. It started when a husband and a wife lost control of their SUV on I-78 and struck a guard rail near Exit 4. Then the vehicle spun and was struck by a tractor-trailer, throwing the 57-year-old driver and his 54-year-old wife from the SUV. Then the husband was hit by a car that dragged him for six-tenths of a mile before the car drove off. He was later pronounced dead. The wife died of her injuries. Police are still looking for the car with front-end damage that dragged the victim for more than a half-mile.
